Lip blush is a permanent makeup technique where hypoallergenic mineral pigment is gently deposited just below the surface of the lips. The finish is soft, sheer, and natural — closer to a tinted lip stain than to lipstick. It corrects unevenness, adds definition to the edges, restores color that fades with age, and gives the impression of fuller, more youthful lips without injectables. A topical anesthetic goes on first to keep you comfortable. Once your lips are numb, we begin layering pigment with an ultra-fine needle in small, soft passes. We pause to check color saturation in the mirror so we can adjust together as we go. Six to eight weeks after your first session, you come back so we can refine. Lip blush heals lighter than expected for almost every client — that's normal. The touch-up brings the color to its final saturation and locks in the longevity. Most clients report a 2 or 3 out of 10. We apply topical numbing before we start and re-apply during the session, so the bulk of the appointment is comfortable. We custom-mix pigment to your undertone and follow your natural lip line, so no one will know unless you tell them. Absolutely. Once you're fully healed (around 4 weeks), you can wear any lip product you'd like on top — gloss, lipstick, balm. Most clients find they wear less, because the underlying color is already doing the work. Avoid lip exfoliants and acid-based products since they fade pigment faster. Claro. Yes — with one important step. The procedure can trigger a dormant cold sore outbreak. If you've ever had one, contact your doctor before booking to get a short course of antiviral medication (like Valtrex). Start it 4 days before your appointment and continue through 4 days after.
