Discomfort is mild. Most clients describe it as the feeling of tweezing two or three hairs at the same time. We apply a topical anesthetic (lidocaine/tetracaine-based) to numb the area before and during the procedure. Some clients actually doze off. Initial healing is 7 to 14 days — that's the scab-and-peel window. Full healing takes 4 to 6 weeks, when the true, settled color shows up. During healing, your brows will look darker at first, then seem faded around day 10 (this is the "ghost" phase — pigment is still there, just hiding under new skin), then re-emerge in their healed shade. Once fully healed, Powder Brows typically last 1 to 2 years. Lifestyle and skin type affect longevity — sun exposure, retinol and Vitamin A skincare, glycolic acid, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser treatments all fade pigment faster. We recommend daily sunscreen on the area, sunglasses, and a refresh appointment every 6–18 months to keep brows looking their best.
