Permanent makeup is a process. Two sessions are part of the standard plan. It is normal to lose some pigment after the first session — that's biology, not a mistake. Discomfort is mild for most clients. A topical anesthetic (lidocaine/tetracaine-based) is applied before we start and reapplied during the session. Most people describe the feeling as a gentle vibration or pressure — not pain. Some clients actually doze off. Mild redness or slight swelling afterward is normal and resolves quickly. If you want a bolder look, we can do that too — but the default is "you, but better." Lifestyle and skin type affect longevity — sun exposure, retinol and Vitamin A skincare, glycolic acid, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser treatments all fade pigment faster. Daily sunscreen on the treated area and a refresh appointment when the color softens keep results looking their best. No. You can go straight back to your day after every PMU service. There may be mild redness or slight swelling on the day of your appointment, which resolves overnight. Healing happens over the following 7 to 14 days. Just follow the aftercare instructions: keep the area dry the first day, take a bath instead of a shower, and avoid heavy soaps or products on the treated area while healing.
